Art Inspired by a Love of the Countryside & the Creatures who call it Home...
Sharon finds great healing and peace when out traipsing through the countryside, there is nothing like it. Whether it's sunlight dancing through the pines, the putt-putt of an old tractor or a pair of fox kits playing rough and tumble in the field, she just can't help but smile. She wants to share that joy with you.
If you have spent as much time observing animals as she has, you will know they each have their own unique personality. Sharon tries to capture not just the creature, but the character in her art. Even the landscape has it's own identity - the angle of a tree or the swirling colors in a cliff face. The same place can seem to have many different personalities, from season to season and at each time of day.
This uniqueness, coupled with her (some may say "wild") imagination, can often lead to humorous caricatures of flora, fauna, people and even inanimate objects. Her ability to work in many different mediums, in both a whimsical and realistic way, produce art that will appeal to people of various tastes but with one thing in common, a desire to smile and dream.
Creativity bubbles over in Sharon's life, flowing into words and photography as well as the more traditional art forms. She is a published poet and thoroughly enjoys "painting with words". She offers inspirational prints of her photography where she combines the language of her heart with the captures from her camera.
She is a self-taught artist, preferring to let life be her teacher. Drawing since she was about two and sculpting since she was 5, she has had endless hours of practice. As a wife and Mom of 3 with a love of writing, photography, animals and life - she is never short of inspiration!
Sharon has been selling her work for over 17 years. In that time she has been blessed to connect with people from all over the world and honored to see her work displayed in private - and not so private - collections from Russia to Canada.
"And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands—yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it." - Psalm 90:17
